~*FOLLOWER APPRECIATION GIVE AWAY*~

I found a new printing company recently and test printed some postcards. They turned out amazingly so I thought I’d do a give away since I recently hit

and was really surprised because I mean what. All I do is like reblog social (in)justice and kitty posts. And maybe draw derpy things. IDEK.

WHAT YOU’LL BE GETTING

- All of them postcards, seven of them.
- they’re all 4x6 inches in size on cardstock paper.
- I guess if you want I can doodle on the back or something.

RULES! Because I guess we need ‘em

- You have to be following me, since that’s the spirit of the giveaway.
- There’s no point of following me specifically for this giveaway, because I made a list of my current followers at the time of this post and will only pick from there. Because, once again, spirit of the giveaway.
- Reblog this to your main blog (aka not a following/reblogging blog). I don’t care how many times you want to do it.
- There will be 3 winners, whom I will pick using a random number generator.
- Ending Time:  Monday, April 16th 2012. 12:00pm EST
- I will contact the winners via ask/fanmail.

WHOOOOOOOP. Also, all the postcards are K/S because of reasons.

Am I the only one who can’t imagine TOS Kirk calling ANYONE a bitch? Even T’Pring?

Because I see that word in far too many fics, and I just can’t imagine Kirk using it.  And it’s not just that TOS doesn’t have swearing, iirc.

I should not read actor interviews about STXII

Asked if fans can expect more “close encounters” between her Uhura and Zachary Quinto’s Spock, Saldana replied, “All I’m going to say is, if you put all the time and energy and wit into setting these two characters together in the first movie and didn’t follow through, it would be a shame.” Saldana then wondered aloud if she’d given away too much, saying, “I feel like J.J. is going to pop up out of the corner and say, ‘Come with me, Zoe.’”

Quote from a Zoe Saldana interview at startrek.com.

I don’t know what to think.  I mean, on the one hand, time?  Energy?  Wit?  Whatever.

I’m not surprised at Zoe wanting to “follow through” with the relationship (whatever that would mean); I remember that interview awhile back where she basically said what she wanted for Uhura in the next movie was to further the relationship with Spock, or something like that.  What concerns me is her wondering if she’s given away too much.  It’s probably just a tease, but that doesn’t mean there’s no truth to it.

I keep dreading the next movie and then trying to reassure myself.  On one hand, I think a lasting, significant Spock/Uhura relationship would honestly ruin the movies for me.  Not because I need Kirk and Spock to be making out on screen (as awesome as that would be), but because it honestly would not feel like Star Trek if Spock could have a relationship with a woman as significant as his relationship with Kirk.  Kirk and Spock are known throughout pop culture for their devotion to each other, for a friendship/relationship so deep that outsiders just can’t break in.  If Spock can have a healthy relationship with Uhura, the dynamic with Kirk would be irrevocably altered.  And the Kirk-Spock relationship is so much a part of the heart of Star Trek that it just wouldn’t feel right.

But I wouldn’t want Spock to keep his relationship with Uhura if he doesn’t feel as strongly for her as he does for Kirk.  Uhura deserves better than that.

On the other hand, though, I try to reassure myself because XI proved JJ Abrams’ devotion to Kirk-and-Spock.  The whole point of the movie was to make them friends!  Pretty much everything was about the two of them.  It gives me hope that JJ Abrams recognizes that it’s a universal constant for the two of them to be the most important people in the universe to each other.  (XI, with the voice of Spock Prime, pretty much said exactly that!)

But I don’t really understand why they put Spock and Uhura together in the first place, so I’m still dreading XII.  I just have to hope that they manage to respect both Uhura and Kirk-Spock.

This is why I love the Oxford comma. :D

Replaying Final Fantasy X. Shatner’s pauses are nothing to Yuna’s.

I’m in law school (with five classes!), have a job, and am looking for a summer job right now.  And yet, thanks to you, I want nothing more than to replay this game.  Gahhhh…

K/S is canon

Is it just me, or does the upper-right screencap look like Kirk has handprints on his ass? :D
